You’ve been unfair with me, Odin. I’ve been always called liar, trickster, cheater…, but don’t forget my ‘lies’ helped you in not few occasions. Your lack of cunning and your eternal blindness would have led Asgard to its total destruction. Have I to remind you, old man, the little details of my help?
Well, let me see…

Then, I made the dwarves compete with each other in a contest of skills. This forced to them to make YOUR spear Gungnir, the ship of Freyr (Skíðblaðnir) and the golden wig of Sif. (Alright, Sif, I won’t mention that I cut your hair) . I also rescued Iðunn who had been kidnapped by the giant Þjazi .
Finally in Jotunheim, I managed with Thor at my side, to recover his hammer Mjolnir after the giant Thrym stole it, in order to ask Freyja to wife in exchange .
So, well. Though I know I’ve been a big problem for you, the mighty, lenient gods (…I mean to Baldr ‘s death(laughs), the birth of Fenrir and other adorable creatures that could eventually engulf the world), I provided all of you with the most precious items. Thor’s hammer, for example, (I’m so kind…) and those flying boats you always use. And, oh!, although we all know I’ll be the origin of Ragnarök , I also provided you with amazing ways to overcome it.…So, next time you have the need to call me ‘liar’…
